🌲🏹 ADVENTURE IS IN FULL SWING AT LEMONWEIR ACADEMY! 🧭🌿

The school year might be winding down for some, but our students are still going strong and taking their learning into the great outdoors! Our crew headed out to the beautiful Kickapoo Valley Reserve for an unforgettable day of hands-on, real-world skill-building.

Our students didn’t just enjoy the scenery—they put some serious future-ready skills to the test:

🎯 Bullseye! Students learned the fundamentals of archery, practicing focus, precision, and form.

🌱 Living off the Land: We explored the trails to identify local edible plants, learning about forest ecology and even getting to taste some of nature's own treats!

🧭 Finding Our Way: Putting tech aside, students mastered the art of orienteering, using traditional compasses to navigate the terrain.

At Lemonweir, we believe that some of the best classrooms don't have walls. Our students are stepping into summer equipped with practical outdoor skills, confidence, and a deep appreciation for our natural resources!

🐟 Big Day for the Lemonweir Academy Trout STEAM Team! 🐟

Today was the culmination of months of hard work as our incredible Trout STEAM Team officially released our brown trout into the wild! 🌊✨

From carefully monitoring eggs to watching them grow into healthy fingerlings, our students have been fully hands-on with this incredible real-world science project.

We want to extend a massive thank you to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and Juneau County Land and Water for partnering with us today. Your expertise and help in the field made this release an unforgettable, impactful experience for our students. And a GIANT thank you to the Coulee Region TU (Trout Unlimited) that sponsors this project!

Our local ecosystems are a little richer today, and our students are walking away with a deeper understanding of conservation, biology, and natural resource management. Way to go, team! 🌲🎒

🏙️ Lemonweir Explores La Crosse! 🏙️

Our crew had an incredible day soaking up the history, scenery, and sunshine of the Coulee Region! Here are some of the highlights from our adventure:

🦅 Into the Wild
We started the day by immersing ourselves in the natural wonders of the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife & Fish Refuge. From spotting local wildlife to learning about the river's ecosystem, it was the perfect way to kick off our trip.

🚢 Life on the River
Next, we took to the water for a classic sightseeing tour aboard the La Crosse Queen Cruises on the Mississippi. Cruising on an authentic paddlewheeler gave us a unique perspective on the river's history and its importance to the region.

⛰️ Views from the Top
We couldn't visit La Crosse without heading up to Granddad’s Bluff. Standing 599 feet above the city, we took in the breathtaking panoramic views of the Mississippi River Valley. It was the perfect spot to see how the landscape connects everything together.

🗺️ Crossing State Lines
The adventure didn't stop in Wisconsin! We headed west, crossing the border into Minnesota to explore the scenic bluffs and winding roads along the river’s edge. Seeing the "Land of 10,000 Lakes" from just across the bridge was a great way to expand our horizons.

🍦 A Sweet Conclusion
Of course, no trip is complete without a stop at The Sweet Shop. We wrapped up the day with some of their famous homemade treats—the perfect sweet ending to a fantastic day of exploration!

This week, Lemonweir Academy is joining schools across the nation to celebrate National Charter Schools Week. We want to take a moment to extend a heartfelt thank you to our incredible families.

Choosing the right educational path is one of the most important decisions a family can make. We are honored that you have chosen us to be a part of your student’s journey. Our school is brighter because of your children, and our community is stronger because of your involvement.

We are proud to provide a space where students can explore their passions, work in STEAM teams, and grow into the leaders of tomorrow. Thank you for trusting us with your student's education and for being the heart of our school!

Lemonweir Academy is proud to partner with community members and local businesses to bring real-world learning experiences to our students. This semester, our Work-Based Learning students had the opportunity to explore valuable skills that will help prepare them for their futures.

Western Technical College visited to help students navigate the world of post-secondary education and training opportunities. Members of our district scholarship committee coached students on writing strong essays and finding grants and scholarships. REMAX RealPros WI introduced students to renting vs. buying, while also explaining loans, interest, and smart financial decisions.

A huge thank you to these amazing partners for investing in our students and helping them discover the many paths ahead of them!
