The 2025-2026 school year is off to a fun start! 📚🎨 This week's specials (so far) include cozy library time and art, sparking creativity and curiosity right from day one.

Thanks to the NC Farm Bureau "Ag in the Classroom" Going Local Grant, we're wrapping up the year with more sustainability-focused learning. 🌱 A big THANK YOU to Mecklenburg County Farm Bureau for supporting our growth! ❤️

Congratulations to Spring 2025 Going Local Grant winner Jennifer Aycock. Her homeschool, Green Oak Schoolhouse, is in Mecklenburg County.

She will be purchasing composting equipment, beehives, and starting a rain garden.

Thanks to the N.C. Farm Bureau Ag in the Classroom Going Local Grant, we've already started lessons in composting, soil health, water conservation, and native plants. We're excited to finish the year strong with more hands on lessons focusing on sustainability and ecological responsibility! 👩🏻‍🌾🌱

We loved celebrating World Bee Day at Rama Road yesterday. Thank you, kindergarten classes, for letting us share all about the fascinating world of honeybees! 🐝

We had an amazing time at The Museum of the Waxhaws for their Homeschool Day! The living history demonstrations, colonial crafts, and hands-on learning made for a memorable and engaging experience. 📜🧶

There's nothing like an afternoon of reading with our feathered friends! 📖🐔 Relaxing with a good book and some curious chickens makes learning even more fun and unique at Green Oak Schoolhouse. 🌳

We had a fun field trip to Discovery Place Science yesterday. From hands-on science to creative play, their interactive exhibits kept us engaged and excited to learn! 🌎🐠🌕🕷️🔍

Today's math lesson took us outdoors! ☀️ We measured the perimeter and area of our raised garden beds to help us decide where to put new beds. 📏🌱 Combining math with nature in this hands-on lesson was fun!
