We all carry grief, old and new. I immediately felt it. This particular one is going to be an important journey.

We all move through sadness, heavy and light. And somehow we keep going, because there is no other way. It’s a place that can feel indescribably harsh, confusing and lonely to navigate. Even though it’s hard to believe, the way it hurts often changes with time. And it lightens when shared.

When I lost my father to brain cancer in 2019, my understanding of grief completely changed. And it changed me. An inevitable shift in awareness. From then on reality was perceived in a new way. I was brought closer to seeing a glimpse of how we are all connected, through time and space.

I learned that the aching sadness in my chest will never leave me. Even though it never was and never will be easy, it opened my eyes to truly appreciate the connections that are right here, right now: alive. And to experience life as a precious chance. Unpredictable, tender and non-repeatable.

Yoga helped me move through so much of my emotional processing. So I have created a sequence designed to walk you through the energetics of grief. Yin yoga with acupressure based on the wisdom of Traditional Chinese medicine.

I look forward to sharing this special practice with you.

Greetings from YouTube. I never thought I’d say those words. But to be completely honest, it feels refreshing. A little bit of stretching of my introvert comfort zone, for sure. Being together in a room >human to human< will always be my first choice, but since that’s not possible right now, this is what wants to be created. And it’s filled with every inch of my heart. πŸ₯Ή

The newness though, dancing with excitement for the infinite possibilities weighted in by the fear of being seen. To suddenly exist in a whole new world is a journey full of everything.. to step into that wide open and so very full space! 🌎

Mmm.. I feel joy again! To witness a new cycle of creation starting, to finally share again from a new place within, for the sweetness of Sadhana and the weaved wisdom of every living thing.

If you read this far,
Thank you for being here.

Entering the season of the Earth element fills me with relief. It’s the same feeling every year. The rhythm slows down. We’re in this short time of in-between when fruits are abundant and ripe, the density of potential lingers in the air.

But isn’t it strangely different now, as we’re currently between eclipses? Do you also feel like we’re right before something huge happens? Like the recoiling force of a wave gathering strength to pour itself back into expansion.

From nothing to something and back into the fabric of what holds everything together.

It’s your invitation to receive, enjoy and be filled up with what’s supportive. To feel the ground beneath your feet and lean into the warmth and steadiness of the earth herself. Right there, in the midst of stability, is the core of transformation that holds and recreates all shapes and forms.

In the season of shifting from flickering flames to gravity, gathering, intention. What experience is still asking to be digested, so it can become wisdom?

For me, staying in one place for the next five months to integrate life feels like a gift! To make this temporary cocoon feel like home and let my brain rest. Receiving the pause, instead of already looking for the next horizon.

Maybe that’s the real Earth medicine.. not stillness as absence of movement, but stillness as the precious place where the next movement gathers its strength.

If you want to marinate in the goodness of Late summer and learn about the Yi (spirit of the Spleen, Stomach and pancreas), I’m offering a space for that on August 23rd in a 90-minute Yin journey into the Earth element, digestion, and what it means to let yourself be nourished.

Details in my bio, if it calls to you. 🀍

My favourite months are August and September. From the light, shapeshifting and intense season of Fire, there is a warmer and lower light shining through. More moisture, more density and matter, more weight.

It’s happening right now, the transition from the peak of dynamic Yang back to more containment, more Yin.

I feel it in my bones.
In late summer, the melancholic ache is felt before it’s spoken. Perhaps my body remembers going back to school after summer break. Buying colorful pens and empty notebooks. Strawberry scented erasers and reflectors to attach to the backpack because the walk to and from the school bus got darker day by day.

The feeling of a mellow restart hums in my bones. Between processing the joy of what has been and receiving a new beginning.

It’s different now and I’ve lived in 7 countries since waiting for the bus in a pitch black cold Lapland. Regardless of location, I still feel the rhythm of change when this season starts. Shifting into predictability and integration is strangely comforting.

What is it like for you?

β€œThe creativity of fire coagulates, contracts and transforms into the generous, nourishing bounty of Earth. Yet, as the season cycle tips back into darkness, Earth reminds us that unless we enjoy and share her gifts, they will ultimately end up rotting in the field. Earth calls us to give and receive, to assimilate, transform and deliver while we digest.” -Lorie Dechar

These videos are from Iceland, where I visited with my mother exactly this time last year.

Being a human being. To me it’s not always a simple thing. The yearning to connect and feel myself as part of something bigger and the simultaneous desire to fully understand myself as an individual unique soul. The other night when I was reading myself to sleep, I found deep sense of resonance in these words by mark nepo.

I wonder, do they make sense to you too?

The strange but liberating dynamic of being, one makes the other possible: When we admit who we are (when we declare and own our gifts alike), we then admit who we are (we let in the deeper source or aliveness).

This seems to work like an inlet between the small pool of being we call the soul and the ocean we call Spirit.

When we can admit who we are , in either sense, and give voice and on what lives inside us, that very act opens us like an inlet and lets the depths of all being rush in.

In a fundamental way, it is this exchange of waters between the small pool of our soul and the ocean of Spirit that keeps us alive. Is is here that all transformation begins.

Your heart.
Your heart feels the world into reality. Speaking in a language older than thought, a field of energy that reaches beyond skin, into the room, into everyone near you.

One look and you feel the heart of another. Close the eyes for three breaths and you feel yourself deeper. The heart knows its way of listening like no other force.

The spirit of the heart is called Shen. As the most Yang spirit, its energy is flickering like fire: hyperalert, ever-present and instantly responsive. It’s your soul consciousness and the indescribable glimmer that makes you YOU. Shen returns to the heaven the instant you’re shocked, emotionally overwhelmed or overly excited.

When Shen leaves, so does our clarity, our capacity for connection, our sense of meaning.

We can bring Shen back home by offering it a still place to land. By closing your eyes intentionally and drawing the awareness back to the heart.

Join me on Thursday 16th for a homecoming practice.

When we consciously choose to give our nervous system a break,
we allow our entire system to recalibrate.

Less stimulation and lessΒ information,
nothingness is the soilΒ where somethingness can grow.

In this 90-minute workshop we’ll explore the wisdom of Shen, the spiritΒ of the heart. How we tend to lose the connection with our hearts when something sudden happens in life, and the ways of bringing our soul back into the body through finding stillness.

Weaving theory, acupressure, yin postures and somatic awareness into a practice that supports you to hold yourself andbeing in your world, without burning out.

Happy Solstice & Midsummer! Welcome to the fire season and the peak of Yang Qi. ❀️‍πŸ”₯

Here’s a hug for you πŸ«‚ if you’re not quite able to lean in to the intensity, if you’re going through challenges that seem to draw you back inside. Or if it’s just a little too much at the same time and you’re inviting more ease to your days.

It may feel wrong to want to turn inward this time. Because… Summer is the apex of expression.
SUN β˜€οΈ HEAT β˜€οΈ FULLNESS

The season of connection, outward going energy and it is time … to be seen. To laugh together.

What if you don’t feel like dancing right now?
I hear you.

We have been moving countless times in the last six months, depleting our earth element and the fire seems to need more containment in order to not burn the whole world up.

I find that time in/with water helps.
Time and space where nothing needs to happen, helps too. Empty space.

Sleep and nourishment.
Watermelon πŸ‰
Patience.

Connecting with people with whom I can be fully myself, relationships built on trust. It doesn’t mean no disagreement, but enough room for each heart to be heard without judgment.

And then.. moments to appreciate summer in her fullest beauty. The grace of feeling the sun against the skin. The gift of smelling the grass, flowers and sunwarm stones.

Listening to the breeze and the bees. 🐝

Tell me, what are your summer remedies?

Your heart has been beating since 22 days after conception and will not stop until the moment of death.

The heart is seen as the governor of the body, the Supreme controller. Without the heart, the rhythm of life is silence.

At its center is a void. Emptiness (wu). A space that must be protected so the spirit of the heart, the Shen, has a home.

The heart does this through wu wei, effortless action. Knowing when to act and when to be still. And the heart’s gate keepers: the small intestine, the pericardium and the triple burner. Energetically, they help discern what’s yours and what’s not. What and who gets to come all the way in, and touch the heart.

Summer is the peak of Yang energy. Can you feel it?
Heat, intensity and being pulled from our nests out into the world. The Fire season asks us to find balance between connection, space and boundaries.

Join me for a Yin Yoga journey exploring the fire element and the gatekeepers of the heart.
