We need your help!!! MC Market formally Mohawk Market’s account is getting low! Does your business or family want to give back? We currently serve 2 schools in Mason city and act as an emergency food shelf for all MCCSD. Each week we provide food for students to take home to be able have meals outside of school. The market update: we will rename Mohawk Market to simply The Market Until we establish a new name. This year we have been sending rolling backpacks home with students each week to help keep their tummies full! A special thank you to Sarah Ryner and family, the Roosevelt Girl Scout troop, and Summit agriculture group for their generous donations this winter to help keep us going. Thank you!
As we gather around the dinner table to celebrate Thanksgiving next month, we know that some of our neighbors, friends and students will not have the luxury of a bountiful feast. In fact, 49% of students in our district qualify for free or reduced meals.
That’s why we’re asking for your help! We are looking to raise money to purchase Thanksgiving meals and other pantry staples for families in our district. These meals will be made by HyVee.
Cash or checks made out to Mohawk Market can be sent to Grace Church or gifts can be made online. ($80 gift to cover the cost of a Thanksgiving meal https://ppay.co/rzZCY6dm5oI or a one time gift of any amount https://ppay.co/ud7X2r-ex7Q. We'll also be making announcements at the football game tonight about this project and attendees will have an opportunity to donate at the concession stands.
