We were in the room where it happened. The newest generation of XTool laser unveiled. This looks to be a promising machine. It is not just a head swap. Each module appears to use both the gantry and galvo except for the CO2 which is a fixed head like the P3. The hazards of UV printing!!

First off, this meter never went into yellow or red indicating a serious health issue. But it did immediately spike as soon as I moved it into the closet with the printer.

About UV inks, they do release harmful VOCs. For most people it is just an irritating smell. For some it causes debilitating migraines.

If you are thinking about a UV printer for business or hobby, you need an air purifier or filtration system.

I leave my closet door closed but I run the purifier all the time. I wanted to test leaving it off to see how quickly the smell would fill the room.

🤮🤢 it is incredibly strong. But after 15 minutes with the air purifier on it dropped back to normal air quality.

Not my normal Friday style. Replay from a live stream test. This week I am getting ready for the Next Level Maker Conference in Grapevine Texas from 26-29 August. I will be capturing videos next week and talking directly to vendors and other creators about the laser and printing industry. I will meet up with representatives from XTool, Morpho, MakerFlo, Houston Acrylics and more.

UV printing is not for those who a sensitive sniffer. UV ink puts off a strong odor. For some people it causes headaches and nausea. It is highly recommended to connect your machine to an air filtration system or use an air purifier in the space.
