Before there was breath, before there was body — there was said to be sound. One vibration humming beneath everything that exists.✨
The yogis called it Om. 🕉️
Not a word. Not quite a sound either. More like the echo of creation still moving through us, if we get quiet enough to hear it. 🤍
That’s why we chant it at the beginning of practice — three times, low in the belly, letting it rise like it’s been waiting there all along. It’s a threshold. A way of saying: I’m stepping out of the noise of my day and into something older, something stiller. 🌙 And at the end, we chant it again — not to close a door, but to carry that stillness back out into the world with us. 🌊
Om doesn’t need to be understood to be felt. But if you’ve ever wondered what’s actually happening in that hum — the philosophy, the history, the why behind the sounds we make on the mat — that curiosity is exactly what our 300hr YTT was built for. This is where practice turns into understanding, and understanding turns into teaching. 🌱
