I created this page and my wordpress blog with great intentions way back in the pandemic...during grad school...and then stopped just simply to teach.

I am reinvigorating this page with simply the goal of consistently ruminating on thoughts as I consider doing a more formal deep dive in to the profession of teaching.

These are observations and experiences of my own coming forward, but I so much appreciate when people kindly offer a different perspective, a novel idea or a push to go deeper - the challenge is delicious to me and I am aiming to post once every two weeks or so as time permits.

Yesterday I created the visuals (slide deck) that I'll use to introduce the students I have yet to meet to the making of their learning portfolios this coming year. (Whew! complicated sentence!)

Reflection is an important part of learning and growing, and I'll be learning along side them as I ponder my experience in a public high school on the West Coast.

What has the past 4 years taught me? How will I make it without my colleagues that I grew to love and cherish? What will I leave behind (good bye anxiety...you're not helping!) What will I pursue outside my work? (hello gym! I've missed you) - How is teaching in my new school district out west different from teaching back east?
..at this point, I clearly only have questions....and I may never find answers - but "it's the climb!"

You know you love your work when you can't wait to start it!
