It seems like they grew in over night!

He’s starting to look more like his round little self 💕

Hamish is having a bit of a crazy molt this year! While this is rather normal for screech owls to molt this way, you can’t help but feel bad for the poor little guy 🤣

Molting is the annual replacing of feathers that all birds go through. We have given Hamish an extended break this year.

Throw back to last fall when Hamish was so in love with his little toy sheep 🥹

He would bring it with him to the weight room, outside to his chamber, eventually lose interest in it, so we’d have to pick it up and bring it back inside. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.
We had to weigh it because he would not give it up, even when he was on the scale 😂

He’s had several toys over the years, but this one was his favorite! He eventually killed it. RIP sheepy 🤣
