Learn about the Energy Resilience Readiness Exercise (ERRE)!!!

Please join us on Wednesday, 3 April at The Clubhouse Grill (1955 Lewis Turner Blvd, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32547) from 1130-1300 this Wednesday!

Mr. Steve Loken, AFSOC 1 SOCES Hurlburt Field Deputy Base Civil Engineer, will be presenting on the process and strategy that went into planning and executing the Energy Resilience Readiness Exercise (ERRE) conducted for Eglin AFB and Hurlburt Field, Florida in February 2024.

From the Air Force: “ERREs are helping the DAF address challenges brought about by asymmetric threats to enabling systems like energy and water, changes to the global climate, and increasing complexity and interdependency of missions and infrastructure. The exercises help installations ensure mission continuity by testing the impacts of a disruption in commercial electricity to the installation, such as would occur in a natural disaster. Under this controlled environment, complications can be more easily mitigated before an actual unplanned disruption occurs.”

--Led by SAME professionals and other volunteers from the military and engineering community, for more than 20 years the SAME Camps Program has focused on practical, project-based learning that provides hands-on opportunities to explore STEM fields and to chart a course for future education and career opportunities. The Society of American Military Engineers (SAME), Emerald Coast Post was pleased to award East Panhandle Regional Science Fair in February. The Post helped with judging and presented in the special award category, $75 for second place and $175 for first place, for overall presentation, knowledge of the subject, and understanding of the experiment.

Applications for our 2024 SAME STEM/Engineering & Construction Camps are open until March 15th for all high school students!

Led by industry professionals and other volunteers from the military and engineering community, the SAME Camps Program focuses on hands-on, project-based learning that provides students with opportunities to begin exploring STEM fields, including science, engineering and construction, technology, and the environment. The SAME Camps help students chart courses for future education, leadership, and workforce opportunities.
