PERSONS OF INTEREST IDENTIFIED IN COLD CASE HOMICIDE

10 Years Morgan County!!!, it’s been 10 years since this young man’s life was taken and his family has had to live every day without answers. However, this investigation remains heavy on our hearts and minds, it continues every day, with progress along the way.

It’s today more than most days, when the Searcy family is reminded most that they don’t have answers, that they want, and the closure that they greatly need. The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office could greatly use the Public’s assistance in gaining the closure and answers for this family.

Seeking Justice in the Murder of Jacob Searcy
It happened in the morning hours of September 21, 2016. The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on North Gasburg Road, Mooresville, Morgan County, Indiana on a reported shooting. Upon arrival of deputies, the body of 28-year old Jacob Searcy was discovered.

The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in finding the killer(s) of Jacob. We know that individuals out there know what happened, it is time for you to contact us and help provide justice and closure for the Searcy family.

On August 29th, 2026 a 3 year old girl choked on a hair clip resulting in a total obstruction. Protocol was not followed as the child was unconscious. LifeVac dislodged the obstruction on its first attempt. The child's mother described the incident as follows:
