The annual meeting of the Tennessee Academy of Science is a great place for students to showcase their research projects!

Dr. Heather Dawn Wilkins, professor of Biological Sciences, is the recipient of $385 award in the conference participation category of the Fall 2026 Faculty Development Grant Program. Dr. Wilkins will be presenting her project summarizing their research on the nesting phenology of Barred Owls and Eastern Screech-Owls at the 136th Annual Meeting of the Tennessee Academy of Science in Lebanon, Tennessee, Held November 13-15, 2026.

Before the winter storm, the Ornithology Class was able to take a field trip to see Sandhill Cranes! Even caught a glimpse or two of Tennessee's State Bird - the Northern Mockingbird!
