TLC Student Funds

Why was TLC formed? TLC was formed as a result of teachers and counselors describing student needs. Their anecdotal descriptions included a youngster who had no breakfast or dinner the day before because, "it wasn't his turn to eat", a new junior high student who couldn't afford a back pack and other supplies for special educational projects, a large student that coats in the SOS clothing closet w

ere too small, no funds from home to participate in field trips, classroom Christmas parties and Valentine parties and the list goes on. It is the intent of TLC to provide funding to existing programs, and to expand programs to include all Marshfield public schools K-12 through greater community participation and corporate grants. Under ideal circumstances, parents are able to provide for their children. However, there are those parents who have fallen on difficult times, made poor choices, or are simply overwhelmed and are unable to meet the needs of their children. Whatever the reason, the children should not pay the price. If we, as a community, fail to address the problem and allow school children to go hungry and unable to participate in normal school activities, we will have another generation with the same problems. Our teachers and counselors are willing to provide these children a different vision....TLC will provide the funds.
