First Fruits of Zion's (FFOZ) mission statement is "Reconciling Disciples with God's Prophetic Promises to Israel." We hope to contribute to the ultimate reconciliation of two estranged peoples of God: the followers of Yeshua of Nazareth and the Jewish people.

Raised in an atheist household, Heidi Barr had been told one thing her whole life: there is no God, no heaven, and no afterlife. But after a horse ride gone wrong, she died and found herself face to face with Jesus. In this clip from Messiah Podcast episode 15, Heidi describes what she encountered in her Near Death Experience and what she felt the moment she recognized him.

The whole world is headed toward renewal, but a new heavens and a new earth don’t cancel God’s promise of a particular land to a particular people. The prophets envision both.

Shabbat shalom and chag sameach! Sh’mini Atzeret, the Festival of the Eighth Day, begins this evening.

“On the eighth day we bring the festival to a ‘conclusion’ (atzeret) and we circle around the bimah seven times with the Torah scroll, saying, ‘For from Zion the Torah will go forth and the word of HaShem from Jerusalem.’ The Messiah came from Zion, and the word of HaShem went forth from Jerusalem clothed in the garments of flesh.” (Chaim Yedidiah Pollak)

Most people assume they know what Jesus came to do, but they may be wrong. He did not come to abandon Israel’s story, abolish God’s instruction, or found a faith detached from Judaism. So what did he think he was doing? He told us repeatedly, and his answer reshapes how we read the Torah, the kingdom, Israel, and ourselves. In this session Damian returns to Jesus’ own words about his mission. Because once we can answer, “What did Jesus think he was doing?” there is a harder question waiting behind it: “What do we think we’re doing?”

Some may support Israel uncritically, but there are plenty of serious Bible scholars who know the Scriptures inside and out and remain committed Zionists.
