As summer winds down, it’s a good time to start easing back into school-year routines. Try moving bedtime and wake-up time a little closer to your regular school schedule.

School starts Monday, August 24.

Small changes now can make those first mornings much easier.

ParentSquare is our primary communication platform. All families will receive messages through email or text based on their contact information in Infinite Campus.

The free ParentSquare app makes communication even easier and more organized. You can:

➡️ RSVP to events
➡️ Sign forms and permission slips
➡️ Connect directly with teachers
➡️ Access important information all year long

Downloading the app is not required, but it’s the best way to stay fully connected. We encourage all families to download it before the new school year begins!

Welcome to the Fisher Family, Miss Boliver ❤️💙

🐾 Say hello to one of our newest Bobcats for 2026–27!

Kennedy Boliver is joining MCSD as a new first grade teacher, and we couldn’t be happier to have her on the team. Here’s why Kennedy is ready to embrace the lead as a Bobcat:

"I wanted to become a teacher here at Marshalltown because three of my parents are educators within the district; they have always spoken highly of how wonderful Marshalltown is and how deeply it cares for its staff. While completing my student teaching here, I was able to experience that firsthand. I truly felt like a part of the Bobcat family and felt that my voice was heard. I was also blown away by how much every single person in the building cares for each individual student. Marshalltown truly believes in cultivating future leaders, and I can't wait to get started this fall!"

📚 Join us on Wednesday, August 19 for Back to School Night as students and families meet teachers, explore classrooms, and get ready for a great year ahead.

The times for each location are as follows:
➡️ Elementary Schools (PK-4): 4:00-5:30pm
➡️ Lenihan Intermediate (5th-6th grade): 4:30-6:00pm
➡️ Miller Middle School, Marshalltown High School, Marshalltown Virtual Academy, and Marshalltown Learning Academy/Therapeutic Classroom: 5:00-6:30pm

The first day of school for the 2026-27 school year is Monday, August 24.

We cannot wait to see everyone back in our buildings!
