MHC Challenges 7 (Fall 2011) An online community to get to know your Challenges classmates and Challenger! The MHC instructor will also serve as your advisor.

LAA111, or Challenges, is a course that all first-year students taken and is designed to provide an orientation to Mars Hill College, including the liberal arts curriculum, the college community and resources, and student life. tion curriculum and will introduce you to themes of the curriculum – character, faith and reason, civic live, and creativity. LAA111 classes consist of 16-22 students and are team-taught by a MHC faculty member or instructor and a student “Challenger” assistant. This team begins working together during the summer SOAR days, and continues throughout Gateway Orientation, and academic year. This page will allow you to get to know both your Challenger and fellow classmates. Get to know your peers, ask questions, and get ready to begin your Mars Hill College career! Any student-athletes in the crowd? I am. I run cross country and track for MHC. Balancing academics and athletics is a tough equation, especially in your first year. Anyone following this story have an opinion? Should he play or sit? What is first priority, school or sport, and does that depend on Division I, II, II (MHC is DII)?
