6th grader Srivibhu Piratla shared a presentation about his First Lego League team with his 6th grade Computer Science class (Ms. Stanley) this week. He is on a team called Socratic Innovators that made it to the State Finals. They follow core values of Inclusion, Teamwork, Impact, Innovation, and Fun. The team created an app to help solve the problem of packages being lost or delivered to wrong addresses. They came up with the idea of linking addresses to QR codes and printing them on doormats or rugged stickers for delivery drivers to scan. Shown in the photo are Srivibhu (kneeling, front right) with project materials and his Comp Sci class.
Great turnout for this weekend’s AMSA Drama Society presentation of "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" at First Church in Marlborough!
The production featured excellent performances by the large student cast; an outstanding student crew that made everything run smoothly; expert direction by Artistic Director Ryan Gonor, Musical Director Samuel Commito, Crew Director Stasia Wing, Student Director Emily Woodsmall, and Set Designer Tenley Cox; and all guided by the leadership of Producer and Drama Society advisor Christine Crocker. Here are a few of the many highlights.

This week the Counseling Department posted (the old-fashioned way, with actual post-it notes) positive messages for students to take between classes. Counselors do this once or twice a year, but it’s been a while since all students have had the opportunity to grab these bite-sized words of encouragement!
12th graders in Ms. Richardson’s and Ms. Johnson’s Contemporary Voices classes had the special opportunity to talk with Behzad Dabu, a leading actor in Ayad Akhtar's Pulitzer Prize winning play Disgraced. He played the character of Hussein/Abe during the play's premier in Chicago and worked with Akhtar on revising the play during and after that run. The play addresses race, religion, and power structures of contemporary American society. This is the third time Mr. Dabu has spoken to students online after they've read the play. He gave them incredible insights both about the play and acting in general! https://www.behzaddabu.com/
