Congratulations to the members of the Wind Symphony and program for receiving the 2025-2026 GMEA Exemplary Performance Award! From the GMEA Handbook: “The Exemplary Performance Award is presented to middle and high school bands, choruses, and orchestras that achieve outstanding results in all areas of performance sponsored by the Georgia Music Educators Association. These areas include Large Group Performance Evaluation, Solo & Ensemble Performance Evaluation, All-State, and District Honor events. It is the most prestigious award available to middle and high school bands, choruses, and orchestras, and is selected by a committee that reviews recordings, evaluation sheets, participation in events, and individual student achievements for each nominated program.”

Somehow, the same kids who once got lost finding their dot on the field are now confidently marching into their next chapter. We’ve watched you grow from nervous freshmen into leaders, role models, and genuinely remarkable humans.

Band isn’t just about the music! It’s early mornings, late nights, bus rides, inside jokes, and a whole lot of heart. And you gave all of it. Every note, every step, every performance. You left your mark on this program in a way that won’t soon fade.

Wherever life takes you next, carry that same dedication, resilience, and spirit with you.
