Backpacks are being dug out of closets, lunchboxes are making their comeback, and parents everywhere are realizing that summer vacation is coming to a close!

Because let's be honest... August is basically the Sunday night of summer vacation. 😅 The back-to-school sales are ramping up, the aisles are filling with crayons and notebooks, and somehow the first day of school is right around the corner.

☀️ Free Summer Meals Are Here! 🍎

This summer, OHM BOCES is helping ensure children across Oneida, Herkimer and Madison counties have access to nutritious meals while school is out.

The OHM BOCES Summer Food Service Program offers FREE meals for all children 18 and under, regardless of school enrollment or free/reduced lunch status. Families can choose from a variety of convenient meal options, including traditional meal sites, hybrid locations and expanded 7-Day Meal Bundle pickup sites designed to make accessing healthy meals even easier.

📅 The program runs throughout the summer at locations across our region.

It seems like only yesterday they were walking these halls... oh wait, it was. 💙🤍

One last walk through the hallways that have been home. One last round of high-fives. One last chance to soak in the place where so many memories were made.

Yesterday, our 5th graders said goodbye to Marcy Elementary before taking their next step to Parkway Middle School. We are so proud of the young people you've become and can't wait to see where your journey takes you.

Elementary school isn't defined by one big moment.

It's the hundreds of little moments that become the memories we carry forever.

During his final Advancement Ceremony as Marcy Elementary's principal, Mr. Rothdiener reminded us that growing up isn't just about graduations, awards, or field trips. It's about the friendships formed at recess, the teachers who believed in you, the laughter in the hallways, the challenges that helped you grow, and the countless everyday moments that quietly shape who you become.

As we celebrate our 5th graders moving on, we also thank Mr. Rothdiener for leading our school through so many of those unforgettable little moments.
