Today, in Oro Valley, we worked like the Gila woodpecker. Some animals persist in all weather, looking for food and the perfect place to store it for the Winter. Explorers and their grown-ups used wooden blocks as hammers and spray bottles with water to free acorns, and acorn hats, from giant ice cubes.

Come play on New Year's Eve for a special one-time class in Marana!

Noon Year's Eve party with the animals - we will learn about the great horned owl and explore how animals in our desert benefit each other. At the end of class, we will have a "toast" to the new year with herbal tea at noon.

Class begins at 11am. Please register through Town of Marana Parks & Rec ($10/resident, $12.50 for non-resident).
