We know it's coming. And when it does, MRH Operations will be ready to clear piles of snow from the sidewalks and parking lots with much greater efficiency thanks to these new snow blowers. Each has a 36" wide swath and they even have heated handles! During the last snow season, MRH was forced to pay outside companies to conduct major snow removal due to the condition and limitations of our existing equipment. These new units will keep us covered for years to come. Each MRH campus will receive one.

Out with the old, UP with the new. Rooftop HVAC units are being hoisted and wired up this week at the Early Childhood Center. The music in this video is by an artist named Hudson Crane. The piece is titled "Up On the Rooftop." How could I not select it??

A tip of the cap to Jessey DeVaney and his entire team at MRH Transportation. Safe buses = safe trips for students. We are ready for August 24!

Our nutrition services director was excited to learn that these new kitchen components for the High School were delivered this morning! Our returning students and staff members won't recognize the place. But our kitchen workers will definitely enjoy serving our community with modern, efficient equipment.

Only hours after our students left the building, we have two major projects forging ahead. Legacy Contracting Group was on site at sunrise today doing demolition work on the Early Childhood Center kitchen, and Integrated Facility Services was climbing through the ECC ceiling preparing for our new HVAC equipment.

MRH Athletic Field Advisory

We have reached a critical stage in establishing the growth of the new athletic field at Maplewood Richmond Heights High School/Middle School, which means users of this facility will encounter some restrictions in the coming weeks. The MRH Operations staff is coordinating with Advanced Turf, LandDesign and a volunteer turf expert to help us stay on schedule and improve how the field develops this season. This week, we are spreading a variety of grass seed across the field. LandDesign will use sand to topdress and drag the field. Afterward, we’ll install new heat blankets on the goal boxes.

You’ll likely see equipment and some areas temporarily off limits while this is happening. We ask that all students, staff and members of the public avoid the field until it is open for girls soccer practice. This will be determined by the weather and ability to get the seed to germinate.

The weather outlook through mid March looks favorable for germination with moderate daytime temperatures and periodic moisture. Because of the different seed types, they won’t all appear at once. With the blankets holding heat in the high-wear areas, we do expect to start seeing some visible growth prior to March 16 when Spring Break begins.

We appreciate your cooperation in our efforts to develop a field that will serve the MRH community for many years to come.
