** SCAM ALERT **
We have received reports for a phone scam in which the suspects are targeting your debit card information. The call will show up as the contact phone number of your bank, and the caller will identify themselves to be from the fraud department. They also provide you with the last four digits of your debit card number. The caller then provides transaction information from out of state (which does not actually exist) to get you to advise the transactions were fraudulent and offer to issue you a new debit card.

The callers provide personal information such as your address and phone number (all of which are available with a simple google search of your name so please, do not panic) and sends you a verification number via text message. When you provide this verification, they will then ask you to give them your PIN for your debit card. Once this PIN is given to them, they immediately begin removing money from your account.

DO NOT PROVIDE YOUR PIN TO ANYONE. Your real bank will not ask for your PIN.

Should you receive any phone call from anyone identifying themselves to be from your bank, or other financial institutions fraud department, hand up and call the number on your card or account directly. There are a number of apps available which allow scammers to clone phone numbers and allow their calls to your phone to seem legitimate. Do not allow yourself to fall victim to this crime.
