One year of The Future State. 💜💛

One year ago, we launched a bold vision for the future of Minnesota State University, Mankato and the greater Mankato community.

Since then, alumni, friends and community partners have continued to come together around what’s possible. As we celebrate this milestone, we’re grateful for everyone who has followed along, asked questions, attended events and supported the vision.

There’s more ahead—and we’re excited to keep building the future together.

The Future State started by looking at where we are today—and what our students and community will need tomorrow.

From the need for updated facilities to the growing need for student housing, the vision grew into something bigger: an opportunity to reimagine this part of campus and create a space designed to serve generations of Mavericks.

Listen to Greg share how the idea for The Future State began and why now is the time to think about what’s next.

Giving back can help create opportunities for the next generation of Mavericks. 💜

For Bryan Schmid, The Future State is an opportunity to pay forward what MSU and Maverick Football gave to him—and invest in the student-athletes who will carry the program forward.

Imagine the possibilities.

A place where students gain hands-on experience. Where student athletes compete and traditions grow. Where businesses, alumni, and community members connect. Where southern Minnesota comes together for game days, concerts, and events.

The Future State is more than the spaces we’re building. It’s about the opportunities we’re building with it.

Building opportunity. Creating connection. Investing in what’s next.
