UPDATE on Tea Party Picnic

With the air quality being what it is, the steering committee has decided to scale back the picnic. We won't be having a speaker but for those willing to brave the conditions we will still hold the potluck picnic. We certainly understand that health issues will keep some of you at home.

This is a first - we've had cold and wind and rain that people have braved to be there. But never before the smoke.

Where: Lions Pavilion, First Street Beach, Manistee.

Speaker: Julie Herringa, Library Executive Director, will tell us about all the things the Library has to offer. It's not your Grandfather's Library any more!

Sloppy Joe will be available and we ask everyone to bring a dish to pass and your own beverage. It can be a favorite dinner entrée, side dish, dessert, or snacks.

It is the evening and by the Big Lake so dress accordingly. And you might want to bring a lawn chair, if you have one, for more comfortable seating than a picnic table.

VACANCY FOR THE FOLLOWING: One (1) vacancy on the DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES BOARD (DHHS). This vacancy is for an unexpired 3-year
term commencing immediately and expiring October 31, 2028. The main duties of this Board include supervision and responsibility for administration of the County Infirmary and County Medical Care Facility; the annual review of human service programs operating within the County; and to review and submit recommendations on service contracts entered into by the County DHHS and public and private
agencies within the County. Application packets are available at the Manistee County Clerk's Office,
Manistee County Government Center, 415 Third Street, Manistee, Michigan 49660 or at manisteecountymi.gov. The deadline for filing your application packet is Wednesday, July 8, 2026, by 4:00 p.m. at the County Clerk's Office. The appointments will be made at the Tuesday,

VACANCIES ARE FOR THE FOLLOWING:
One (1) Al-Large position on the MANISTEE COUNTY RECREATION COMMISSION.
This vacancy will be for an unexpired year term commencing immediately and expiring
December 31, 2026. The Manistee County Recreation Commission is established by the County Board of Commissioners under the County and Regional Parks Act 261 of 1965. The Recreation Commission will serve Manistee County with leadership in the development of multi-use trails throughout Manistee County: The Commission will work with local, state and federal agencies to plan, fund and implement trail sections which will connect our communities and those of neighboring counties. The Recreation Commission will work with the County Planning Commission and County Planning Department under the authority of the County Board of Commissioners. Applicants must be residents of Manistee County: Experience in
recreation trail/site planning and development or a passion for trail use is desired. Application packets are avallable at the Manistee County Clerk's Office, Manistee County Government Center, 415 Third Street, Manistee, Michigan 49660 or at www. manisteccountymi.gov. Nicole Kaminski, Operations Manager, Manistee Chamber of Commerce, will speak at MATP's June 18 meeting.
Nicole will tell us about festivities planned for the 90th Forest Festival (July 1 - 5) and to celebrate America's Semiquincentennial.

district City Council seats. Council members for these districts will be elected for
two-year terms at the November 3, 2026 General Election.
The following qualifications are required: • Must be a registered voter of the City for not less than two (2) years immediately preceding the filing
deadline. • Must currently be registered and live in the open
district.
• Must be at least 25 years old as of the filing deadline. Nominating Petitions are available from the City Clerk's of-
fice. • Petitions require 25 signatures of registered voters from
within district (but less than 50)
