The lovely ladies of Sigma Alpha Iota are passionate about music! We are so glad to share our love of music with students, sisters, and the community!

The sisters of the Kappa Upsilon chapter are ardent in the art of music. We stand for the cultivation of excellence in musical performance, the stress on music's importance in the lives of others, as well as supporting and encouraging all women musicians.

August wrap up!

Firstly, we're back to school! It's been fabulous having our roses back on campus. We've already had two meetings, accomplished some great stuff, and are starting recruitment next week!

We also had another Why SAI Wednesday, where Erin Flax said, "I love being in a community of amazing women who are also passionate about music!"

As the KSU Football season begins, our KSUMB members have been busy with band camp, rehearsals, and the first game of the year!

We celebrated Alexis White as our Member of the Month and Meridith Neuer in our Alumnae Sunday series.

As recruitment approaches, we also asked our members to describe SAI in one word. It's no coincidence that "family" came up more than once.

Here's to another successful school year!

We're so proud of Josie Anderson for graduating from AIT at the U.S. Army School of Music in Virginia Beach! She's worked so hard this summer, and we feel lucky to call her our sister ❤️🌹

KY was honored with two province awards this year: Theta A Katherine Becker Province Collegiate Chapter Award, AND the Collegiate Service Project Award. Thank you to everyone who continues to support our chapter. We always strive for excellence, but we would not be where we are today without your contributions and support.

July wrap up!

The first thing we did this month was celebrate our members who made the Dean's List last semester. Congrats to Josie, Rachael, Laura, Bernie, and Alexis!

We then introduced a brand new series: Why SAI Wednesday. On Wednesdays throughout the year, we will be highlighting one of our members and why they chose SAI. Our first highlight was Alexis White, who said, "I joined SAI because it is a service fraternity that supports the School of Music at K-State, and I enjoy being able to help out in this way. I also have many friends and people that I look up to within SAI."

We also checked in with two of our members who've been working hard this summer. Josie has been at the U.S. Army School of Music training to be in the 43rd Army Band in the Nebraska National Guard. Bernie has been in MO working with the Tent Theatre as a stitcher and wardrobe assistant!

We also connected with Rachel Lord-Johnson in our Alumnae Sunday series.

And lastly, we celebrated Josie as our member of the month!

June monthly wrap up!

We started off the month by celebrating Pride Month! We asked our instagram followers to celebrate their favorite q***r musicians with us. Some of the musicians that got highlights were: Aaron Copland, Dodie Clark, Brandi Carlile, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, and more!

We also celebrated the 20th chapter anniversary for the Kappa Upsilon chapter, and the 120th anniversary of Sigma Alpha Iota.

June 8th was National Best Friends Day, so we took space to be grateful that our best friends are also our sisters in music.

We expressed our love for Willie the Wildcat on National Mascot Day.

Our second Alumnae Sunday highlight was Victoria Stuckenschmidt, who was in the KY chapter from 2008-2012.

Our Member of the Month for June was the talented and wonderful Laura Bogner.

And lastly, we began the countdown to National Convention, which we found out will be held in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 2025.

Just because students aren't on campus, doesn't mean things aren't going on here at KY HQ. If you want to keep up with us as things are happening instead of just once per month, check us out on Instagram at sai_kappaupsilon. As always, L&R ❤️🌹
