🇺🇸 We hope everyone had a safe and happy Fourth of July!

As the celebrations come to an end, we hope you had the opportunity to spend time with loved ones and reflect on the freedoms we enjoy because of the courage and sacrifice of our nation’s service members.

We also remember those who never made it home. Their service and sacrifice will never be forgotten, and we honor their legacy today and every day.

From all of us at the K-State MIA Recovery and Identification Project, thank you for taking a moment to remember our missing heroes.

This is 2nd Lt Eldon E. Coulson. He was an airman during WW II, and tragically passed away due to the Nis Incident (Kotov Affair). He enlisted in the USAF in 1942 in Kansas, where he hails from. We have been researching him for quite a bit of time. If you recognize him, please shoot us a DM so we can continue our recovery efforts.

This photo identifies some of the recovered soldiers who were previously reported missing in action or killed in action.

We are working everyday to find more information and recover as many MIA/KIA soldiers as we can, and help bring closure to their families and friends.

Though Memorial Day has passed, our mission continues every day.

We remember the Kansans who never made it home — those still listed as Missing in Action and those Killed in Action whose stories deserve to be preserved, honored, and told. Every name matters. Every family matters. Every sacrifice matters.

Our research and recovery efforts are dedicated to ensuring these service members are never forgotten, and that future generations understand the cost of freedom paid by ordinary Kansans who answered an extraordinary call.

To all who served, all who sacrificed, and all families still waiting for answers: we remember you. 🇺🇸

This is 2nd LT Alton W. Howard. His plane was shot down during the neutralization of Wewak, Papua New Guinea during World War 2. He and the crew were marked as MIA.
