Successful day demonstrating at the League of NH Craftsmen Fair. Our WMWM hooking ambassadors chatted with over 300 visitors to our booth. The heat was tolerable (note the ice cream tent right next door!) Big thanks to our volunteers for helping today.

Our next featured ho**er, Rachael Noyes! You can meet Rachael at her hook in Tuesday, September 1, 2026 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM in Dublin, NH Registration form in the photos or message us for a printable copy.
The large house , hooked with yarn in 1995, was my first ever piece .
My mother-in-law ,Celina ,taught me . She was born and brought up in Cheticamp on Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia.
Cheticamp is well known for their hooked mats .
Celina and her mother were good friends with Elizabeth LaFort , well known Canadian ho**er .
I don’t know which was the better deal … learning how to hook or marrying Celina’s son Jack .😃
I hook often with a local group in Manchester, attend the WMWM monthly meetings and co-host the ATHA Bedford hook-in in April.
And now hoping to organize an annual Hook-In in Dublin NH this September .
I so enjoy traveling to hook-ins and retreats.
I still relish visiting Cape Breton with my hooking friends …..keeping the art of hooking alive !

Here’s a fabulous rug hooked by WMWM member Judy Mitchell. Can you believe she’s new to the hooking universe?

I realized I wanted some rugs for my house, based on various rugs seen at the Hobbiton location in New Zealand, so I knew I had to learn how to hook some. I went to the Sheep & Wool festival in 2025 specifically to meet up with WMWM and learn how to do it! After a few very small projects to learn technique, I started in on my first actual rug: 4' in diameter. That's a big rug. So I started tracing the design that a friend had created on her computer (based on a photo from New Zealand) in early Dec of 2025, and since I have a lot of weekly zooms where I need something to do with my hands and Guild meetings and hook-ins, by late June I had finished my rug and met a bunch of wonderful new friends.
Now I'm taking a break from big rugs to make a mug-rug, then it's on to a 30"x 48" hearth rug. yeah...my thumb is sore from the hooking.

BIG THANKS! to our WMWM volunteers today for the Sheep and Wool Show at the Deerfield Fair grounds. We had a cold, soggy day but sharing our love for rug hooking warmed us. Lots of our learn to hook kits went home with our new fiber friends.
