The Women of The Phenomenal and Dynamic Phi Delta Zeta Chapter Welcomes You! On March 23, 2007, at the Tri-State area convention, Phi Delta Zeta was chartered.

In August of 2006, eight women came together with the idea of organizing a chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated that would target the needs of the Greater Hartford and Manchester areas. Since the inception of the chapter, numerous community service and educational programs have been organized in the Manchester and Greater Hartford areas. Chapter members have raised and donated thousands

of dollars in scholarships and hundred of hours for community service events. The women of the Phi Delta Zeta Chapter strive to maintain a level of excellence while promoting the sorority principles of Service, Scholarship, Sisterly Love and Finer Womanhood. The chapter currently sponsors two undergraduate chapters, NU Theta (University of Connecticut) and Theta Upsilon (University of New Haven)

Reflecting on Our Principle of Sisterhood 💙🤍

Sisterhood is woven into every moment we share. Whether gathered around the table at our Sisterhood Wine Event, celebrating personal milestones, founders day, supporting one another, or simply enjoying time together, each memory strengthens the bond that unites the women of Phi Delta Zeta.

These moments remind us that sisterhood is not defined by one single event, but by the countless ways we show up for one another with love, encouragement, laughter, and unwavering support. Through every conversation, embrace, and shared experience, we strive to create a space where every Soror is valued, empowered, and embrace🫶🏽

Reflecting on Our Principle of Service | Part II 💙🫱🏿‍🫲🏼

Continuing our reflection on the principles that define the women of Phi Delta Zeta, we proudly highlight Service in action.

From participating in the March of Dimes Walk to advocate for healthier pregnancies and stronger families, to walking with purpose during the Zetas Have Heart Walk in support of heart health awareness, our Sorors remained dedicated to causes that promote healthier communities.

We also proudly joined members of the National Pan-Hellenic Council of Greater Hartford during the Juneteenth Blood Drive, answering the call to give the gift of life while supporting the ongoing fight against Sickle Cell Disease through blood donation.

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, Service is more than a principle, it is a lifelong commitment to meeting the needs of our communities through meaningful action.

Every step we take, every hour we volunteer, and every life we touch reflects our dedication to being a community-conscious, action-oriented organization.

Together, we serve with purpose. Together, we create impact. Together, we exemplify Service.

🫱🏻‍🫲🏾💙 Reflecting on Our Principle of Service 💙🫱🏾‍🫲🏿

As we continue reflecting on the principles that guide the women of Phi Delta Zeta, we proudly turn our focus to Service. Throughout this past Sororal year, our Sorors embraced every opportunity to lead through action, demonstrating that meaningful service begins with a genuine commitment to others.

This year, our service was reflected in moments that honored, supported, and strengthened our communities. Soror Pabe, Soror Baptiste-Bynum, and Soror McBride proudly represented Phi Delta Zeta during the Flags In tradition ahead of Memorial Day, honoring the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. During this meaningful day of service, they also had the privilege of visiting Soror Tanya’s father, Private First Class (PFC) Risby, recognizing his military service and sacrifice.

Our commitment to service also extended to volunteering with Connecticut Foodshare, where we worked to help address food insecurity and support our local community. Each act of service reflected our dedication to uplifting others and making a lasting impact.

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, Service is one of our founding principles and a cornerstone of our mission. Through compassion, leadership, and meaningful action, we remain committed to improving the lives of those we serve and strengthening the communities we call home.

Soror LA’Tosha Woodard is a Spr’ 19 initiate through Phi Delta Zeta and recently celebrated her 7th Zetaversary on June 2, 2026. Soror Woodard currently serves as our First Vice-President, MIP Coordinator and Z-HOPE Co-Chair.

Soror Woodard’s first love language is service! You will catch her at just about every single community service event hosted by PDZ, at events run by her Church, Christ Center Church of Hartford, CT, or through her Xtreme Hip Hop Step exercise program.This brings us to her second love language - health and wellness! She can be found teaching Xtreme Hip Hop classes at the LP Wilson Center in Windsor on Tuesdays (beginners) and Thursdays (intermediate).

Thank you, Soror Woodard, for showing us what it means to show up in the name of Zeta with a passion for service and leadership. Thank you for your growth over this past Sororal year and for letting your Zeta light shine 💙
