An immersive experience as we celebrated Israel Day. Live scenes from Tel Aviv were projected on the wall as the kids arrived and worked on their mind map. They then presented their projects. We wrote notes to place on western wall as a live cam of the wall was projected to make us really feel the experience of being at the wall!

We made falafel sandwiches while projections of the Machane Yehuda markets surrounded us. We ended the day with a fun Kahoot and no program would ever be complete without music and movement as we sang the Hatikvah and learned some Israeli folk dances. Everyone had a blast celebrating Israel!

Even younger siblings had a blast participating and presenting their drawings and dancing!

The kids had a fabulous time making hamentashen and packing mishloach manot bags for some of our seniors. We retold the story of Purim with the Rabbi, booed Haman and ended the day with some fun music with Morah Sheri. Thank you to Hana Kremer-Alter for leading our bake and all our parents who joined us!

Students learning about the story of Joseph and his coat of many colors. Lessons were reinforced with the kids being able to make their own coat of many colors using coffee filters, washable, paint, and water.

Another awesome enrichment program with Sari Kapitnikoff of That Jewish Moment and the Chanucanundrum! All our detectives figured out the clues (not so easy!) and solved the puzzle.

We made edible menorah’s, dreidels had Sufganiyot, lit the candle and said all 3 prayers. We ended the night with reverse charades and a great time we had by all!

On Tuesday, 9/6 Jewish educators from around the region gathered for an evening of professional developmental as we prepare to start another amazing year of Jewish education.

The annual conferences is sponsored by the Education Directors Council in collaboration with Jewish Federation in the Heart of NJ, and is co-chaired by LEV Academy’s own Inbar Robbins. In attendance were teachers Stacy Feingertz and Sheri Chalnik.

We can’t wait to bring what we learned to our students in just a couple of weeks!!

Every year this is the program I put my heart and soul into. Scheduling this program during Hebrew schools hours ensures that the next generation, our children, are actively involved in the act of remembering the past, learning our history from those who experienced it first hand while they still can, their descendants, and gain the knowledge needed to be proud of who they are and their role in global Jewry.
