Wilson high schools will commemorate our roots in a special celebration of the significant achievements of our city’s black community. This wonderful citywide event has become a 30-year Malvern tradition. As always, it will begin with a Thursday night concert by our dynamic choirs and will continue on Friday night with a visit to newly remodeled Wilson High for a presentation of scholarships to so

me thirty talented students. Very special on Saturday, the premiere screening of the film devoted to our legacy, “Malvern, Arkansas: Unearthing the Dream.” Also on Saturday will be the presentation of the film’s companion book, “A Great Time of Great Pride,” chronicling the outstanding achievements of Wilson graduates. The memorable conclusion will come on Saturday night with a gala at the world-renowned Arlington Hotel in Hot Springs. The speaker for this festive event will be Dr. Samuel Benson who was also the keynoter at the very first Malvern Weekend.
