This month we are learning about kindness and what it means to be a “bucket filler.”

We all have invisible buckets that we carry around each day. The purpose of your bucket is to hold good thoughts and good feelings about yourself! We feel each others buckets up by being kind. Sometimes, bucket dippers steal our happiness and good feelings. We don’t like those! So are you a bucket filler or bucket dipper?

Welcome back, MES! I am so excited to see everyone!! 💛💚

We are kicking off January by focusing on a growth mindset! This theory, developed by Carol Dweck, is that our brains have the power to overcome physical and mental setbacks-all with practice and the right mindset! I want MES students to develop a growth mindset, rather than a fixed mindset! In a fixed mindset, the student thinks they cannot achieve anymore than they already have and that new skills cannot be learned! Even as adults, there is always room to learn, grow and improve! So, are you going to have a bubble gum brain or a brick brain? 🧠

This month, Malden Elementary has been learning about what it means to be generous and thankful! Today, they donated over 670 cans to the United Voice of Zion mobile food pantry! I am so thankful we had the opportunity to give back to our community! We hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃🍁 💛💚
