Officers and Advisors attended the Sedgwick County Farm Bureau Annual Meeting tonight at Klausemeyer Farms.

We look forward to this event every single year and are thankful for the networking and support that Farm Bureau continues to provide in supporting agriculture.

We also got to meet up with County Commissioner Ryan Baty!

Cash and Biscuit are ready!!

Anna and Cash will show in the market lamb classes at 8am Thursday 🐑 Anna will be selling Cash in the sale on Saturday night. Buyers and supporters are invited to a BBQ beforehand and the sale to follow. We will post more information on this later but if you are interested in purchasing Anna’s lamb to support her project please reach out!

Nick and Biscuit will show in the breeding goat classes at 2pm Thursday 🐐 Nick will be keeping Biscuit for a couple more months as he intends to take her on to the Kansas State Fair.

Maize FFA will also be helping serve at the Watermelon feed on Friday night 🍉

Maize FFA was represented well at the Kingman County Livestock Classic this past Saturday! We had 4 students showing livestock and one who competed for the first time ever!

Member spotlight🌟

Anna Doyon placed 2nd in her market lamb class advancing to the Grand Drive with her lamb “Cash.” Anna also competed in showmanship.

Elliette Nelson placed 1st in her market goat class advancing to the Grand Drive with her whether “Bean.” Elliette also placed 3rd in her showmanship class.

Nick Wadud placed 1st in his class of Breeding Does and advanced to the Grand Drive with his doe “Biscuit”. Nick also placed 4th in his showmanship class.

Sierra Henning placed 2nd in her Breeding Doe class and moved into the Grand Drive with her Doe “Lady”
Sierra also placed 2nd in another Breeding Doe class and moved on to the Grand Drive with her Doe “Velvet.” Velvet then placed 3rd Overall Breeding Doe. Sierra also competed in showmanship.

Overall, we learned a lot and have many goals set for over the next month, as we prepare for Sedgwick County Fair.

Congratulations to Maize FFA Member Izzy Edwards on earning 1st place in the Video category of the national Digital Contest hosted by Nutrients for Life Foundation!

Izzy’s winning project, “How Fertilizer Feeds the World,” highlighted the important role fertilizer plays in agriculture, food production, and global food security through creative visuals and storytelling. She completed the project in the Greenhouse Management class at the Maize Career Academy.

We are so proud of Izzy’s creativity, hard work, and representation of Maize FFA on a national level!

Last week, our team was honored to attend the Maize High School FFA Banquet to recognize Izzy Edwards as one of the winners of the Digital Contest! 🌱

Congratulations to Izzy on her creativity, hard work, and outstanding achievement. 🎉
