Got Extra Gear? Westbrook Lacrosse Needs Your Help!

To Whom It May Concern,

Hello, my name is Garrett Bosse. I am a senior at Westbrook High School and am one of the captains of our boy's lacrosse team. In Westbrook, we do not get large numbers of athletes signing up to play lacrosse due to how expensive the sport is. The past couple of years, we had just enough players to field a team, plus a couple of substitutes. Last year due to low numbers and injuries we had to forfeit the remaining games of our season. We are being asked to recruit players so that we can show the MPA that we have plenty of boys who are able to commit to playing this season. Many of the boys that have shown interest in playing are unable to afford the equipment. Westbrook is not a high-income community and supplying the equipment for lacrosse is a difficult financial hardship for many families. This is where I am hoping you could help us out. I am writing to see if your school would be interested in donating any new or used gear to Westbrook Boys Lacrosse. By having gear that is kept at school and strictly for team use, we can give the boys who will never be able to afford to play lacrosse, the opportunity to do so.

Hello Lacrosse fans!

We are excited to announce a fundraising raffle for all who love the sport and who would like to support a local player in his efforts to represent Maine and Team Ireland in the European Box Lacrosse Championships.

An EPOCH Dragonfly PLL shaft and fully strung head combo signed by current Whipsnakes players is the item up for grabs. (Pictures unsigned as the Players have it this weekend to sign)
As well as tickets to the PLL All Star Game and Skills Event at Gillette Stadium on 7/16 at 4pm. These tickets are 50 yard line, 6th row!

The proceeds of this raffle will be going to local Dan O’Gorman. Dan O’Gorman is a veteran lacrosse coach at Saint Joseph’s College of Maine, Noble High school, and the Maineiax lacrosse club. Dan is also a current member of the Maine Northmen box lacrosse team. During late winter, Dan was given the news he had been selected to represent team Ireland in the upcoming European box lacrosse championships this coming July/August. Dan is a highly motivated and respected coach and player in the lacrosse community and has put in years of work to make it to this point of international play.

In order to be able to play at the international level, players are asked to fund a large chunk of the trip themselves including flight, player fees, money for housing, etc. All funds will be used to make this trip a success for Dan.
