🚨IMPORTANT Maine Premier AAU Spring Tryouts Reminders 🚨

We’re excited for tryouts this weekend and want to clear up a few common questions so everyone is on the same page ⬇️

1️⃣ Season Start & Timing
Our spring season runs March–May for Local Teams and into June for Regional Teams — just like every year.
For our Midcoast families, our season always starts AFTER travel basketball ends so there is no conflict.
➡️ Practices begin in March — tournaments typically start in April.

2️⃣ Can’t Make Tryouts?
No problem — just let us know ahead of time. We are holding tryouts earlier this year to ensure:
✔️ Jerseys arrive on time
✔️ Teams are properly formed

3️⃣ Details Provided at Tryouts
Full schedule, pricing, and season info will be handed out at tryouts.

4️⃣ Team Selection Timeline
We are hosting tryouts this weekend and next weekend. Teams will be finalized and emailed out the week after next.

5️⃣ Our Most Competitive Year Yet
This looks to be one of our strongest and most competitive seasons ever. Our staff has spent hundreds of hours building balanced, developmental, and highly competitive teams. We can’t wait to welcome athletes into our program and continue growing one of the largest and fastest-rising AAU brands in Maine.

Huge congrats to Madelynn Deprey for being named Miss Basketball 🏀

One of the most remarkable things about you is the fire you’ve always had to improve, and I hope every young person that gets to watch you sees that passion. I remember at the first Top 30 camp, when everyone would get a break and go for water you would be out there still dribbling and working on your game, we are talking about 2 days of 8 hours straight of drills.. and you wouldn’t stop. And then the message you sent me afterward verified the drive you had!! I hope these young players understand this didn’t come by accident…the early morning and discipline nights where you went to bed early (outside of me being late to sessions and keeping you and Ryan up) 🤣 to achieve everything you are getting right now. Success comes from love, commitment, and a ton of work. You’re the definition of that. You have pushed yourself and poured everything you have into this game to become the best you can be and maxing out your potential. On top of that you’re one of the most wonderful people anyone will ever meet. I love when hard-working and great people get what they truly deserve!

She has some incredible older brothers as well to look up to, and parents who have supported her from day one! Proud of you, Madelynn. I’m so so honored to have worked with you ❤️🏀 You’ve taught me more than you might realize!!

At this tryout, your child will primarily be evaluated for placement on a Maine Premier Team. If they do not make one of these teams, they will be placed on a Regional/Development Team, which also has dedicated coaches ready to help players grow and succeed 👏🏻

Just a quick appreciation post to some amazing kids. I didn’t get pictures with my other 9/10 Team but I am so beyond thankful for the girls I’ve gotten to know and Coach (we still have a few weeks left) but still…

Our 5/6 Girls are a half 6th and half 5th Grade team. We made it to the championship game in the 6/7 A Bracket and competed against a strong Firecrackers team. Experience and some of the best shooting I’ve seen came into play and we couldn’t hold onto a double-digit lead. Tough loss and then we huddled up and as tears were rolling down these young girls faces I couldn’t help but express how proud I was for them.

Small town Midcoast girls competing with girls who get pulled from populations 5x. These girls solidified themselves as one of the best teams in the state at that age. No question. Future is bright…

My 8/9 Girls competed in the 11/12 Varsity B bracket. We went up against NYA, Kent’s Hill, and of course my 11/12 Team. We made it to the championship game before falling to my older squad. Their fight and togetherness is some of the best I’ve seen. We get to compete in front of some big teams in 2 weeks and I can’t wait for everyone to see these girls. They are special.

My 9/10 Team, 6 girls this weekend. Missing 3 starters, and 2 other starters had bruised ribs and a concussion. We made it to the championship Game and lost. Grit, heart, and lessons that they will carry them into their season. They shouldn’t hold their heads. They gave it everything they had and girls had to fill bigger roles. We grew, and that’s the most important part.

Lastly my 11/12 Team. Mainly a 10th grade team with some older girls who are sprinkled in there. New team, new personalities, and I’m very hard on them. Battled with more injuries than I’ve ever seen a team have. We had half our team this weekend. For me the win was amazing. These girls earned it. But we still have more potential in this team. I’m proud of them, they’ve never complained (to me 🤣)

We are a program that’s been around for 2 years. We are competing with the big dogs that have been around for decades. We have things to work on in our program of course but I’m telling you - we are coming.
