Summer is here, and so is our schedule! Rhapsody Music School is offering new classes and drop-in piano practice following summer school release, in addition to our regular group piano and guitar lessons.

If you're looking to add some recreation and structure to your summer, we hope to meet the needs of families who are looking for a social activity that lets students work with their minds, their emotions, and their friends!

Piano class offerings include group lessons, Intro to Piano, Rhythm & Movement, Parent & Child, and an adult piano club. Receive a discount if you're already a family of the school or if you sign up with a friend for drop-in practice!

Students are encouraged through their goals and their interests to become creative and intuitive on their instruments. We are excited to help Fort families fill the summer up with the fun of music!

A few shots from our recital on Saturday. Every student was so supported and cheered on in such an extraordinary way! The excitement that was present allowed students to experience a true "show" between audience and performer alike, in sharing what they've learned - this is the goal of playing for others. It was truly inspiring to witness the work and talents of all. Thanks to the families of Rhapsody Music School for such a great event - your dedication brings a wonderful musical presence to the community!

Students, you are going to love playing on this keyboard for tomorrow's recital! The sound is amazing in our stage area, and your families are all so excited to hear you play. Everyone is going to do great sharing their progress, and I am looking forward to celebrating with root beer floats amd ice cream sodas to follow! See everyone at 1:00!

Rhapsody Music School piano instructor and accompanist with First Congregational United Church of Christ Emily Peplin pictured with former Milwaukee Brewers organist Dean Rosko, following a service performed by Dean dedicating the new organ to the church on April 19. The heights of the instrument were limitlessly demonstrated as the church receives the organ with the merging of the Whitewater United Methodist Church and its congregation. Uplifting music in the community brings the full potential of all people to a wondrous place, and right in the heart of Fort Atkinson!

I am excited to introduce the new guitar teacher with Rhapsody Music school, alongside the change in our school name! Anthony Vincent brings over 25 years of educational and performance experience to Fort Atkinson, having taught and performed with jazz and rock bands in Wisconsin and around the country.

Anthony attended UW-Milwaukee and began teaching in 2001. He has led clinics on guitar, effects, and amplifier techniques in partnership with Guitar Center. He connected with international artists through his collaboration with Port City Amplification in North Carolina, and over the course of his years of teaching, gained experience with guitar repair, setups, and upgrades.

Anthony's experience connects his passion for teaching with helping students reach their own goals. His classical background in piano and guitar allows him to inspire students from fundamentals to developed talent, and he looks forward to offering guitar instruction to students of all ages at our location in downtown Fort Atkinson. We've got a new name - the piano school in downtown Fort Atkinson now offers keyboard and guitar lessons!

A "rhapsody" is a type of composition that - just like expressing our emotions with music - is free in form, allowing for varied and contrasting moods. We hope students of our school learn to express the heart of their art with fun and joy!
