Way Back Wednesday is here!
In honor of Floydada Homecoming week we’ve decided to add some images of Floydada athletes, Football Sweetheart, and Mr. & Mrs. FHS from 1954 and a vintage early 60s Whirlwinds ribbon found on the “Floydada Ex-Students Association” public page postes by Dennis D.

Did you know, after several years of hosting homecoming only every 4 years, the tradition has since been changed to an annual Homecoming including a Homecoming parade which started in 2021!? Tomorrow, Thursday Sept 3rd, 2026 is this year’s parade! See you there!

Way Back Wednesday is here!
One of our favorite restaurants growing up (until their very last day of business) was “Nielson’s Restaurant & Catering” located at 304 E. Houston where you could enjoy a delicious hot buffet on Sunday or order directly from the menu!

On top of their delicious food, they also had many antiques throughout the property that brought you into a Floyd County, Texas Time-Capsule!

Upon entering your were greeted by several other local guests who were also dining-in which proved to be a fulfilling business. We sure miss their hamburger steaks, mashed potatoes, & rolls.

Today, the building has been completed renovated into another successful business as the headquarters of a Floydada Roofing & Construction business — Cornelius Construction & Kellison Roofing. These men have done an amazing job growing their business and making a name for themselves in Floyd County and surrounding areas!
