🌟Education Specialist (ED.S)🌟

The purpose of the Ed.S. degree in Instructional Leadership concentration is to prepare teachers of integrity to assume leadership roles in their schools, districts, and the profession. The form of leadership can be distinguished from but in tandem with, formal administrative leadership.

This Teacher Leadership program is designed to strengthen the leadership skills of professional educators working in tandem with school administrators to maximize instructional effectiveness. The aim of this program is to prepare teacher leaders of integrity who serve as instructional role models with the capacity to support and influence professional educators in all aspects of P–12 education.

We asked one of our FHU education professors, "Do you have any advice for future teachers?"
Her response was, "The foundation of instruction is to first build relationships with your students and their families when possible.

Have determination to know them well, to see the good in them, to maximize their strengths, to help build them up in areas that may not be as strong, and to let them know you are pulling for them! Discuss specific personal attributes that you notice and love. Also, discuss data with your students. Help each one to set personal goals. Students will know where they are, where they are headed, and what it will take to get there. Then you can work together to achieve those goals and celebrate as a family when they reach those targets that THEY have set! SUCH a skill for life that the youngest of learners need to experience!

Also, remember…Sometimes you are the ONLY FAN on their side of the court. Even when students have a wonderful fan base in their family and home, they still need to know that teachers love them and want them to succeed." ⭐⭐⭐
