Time is running out to apply for Summer EBT 2026! The deadline is August 31. While some families receive Summer EBT automatically, if your child attends a school where all students receive free lunches, you may need to fill out an application so DHS can determine your eligibility based on income and household size.

Friday was our first sugar day of the school year! These ladies out done themselves making homemade cinnamon rolls for the students and staff at the elementary school.

Starting off strong. Brand new salad bars, both kitchens full of brand new equipment, cooking items, culinary items, baking items, you name it we’ve replaced or added to it. Staff is locked in and ready to go into the 26/27 school year to feed our students.

Thank you Lord for another year. Be with us as prepare meals for our kids. May our words be kind, our minds open and clear, our ears ready to listen and our hearts filled with love for our students. Give us the words to say when needed, patience when we are wearing thin and above all else help us to see when they need us to recognize their bad days more so than their good days!

I (Dana) want to say thank you to ALL the staff, students and community members who helped with the Summer Feeding program. Thank you all for having the faith in me to pull it off. I asked for a lot and you guys gave it in abundance.

WYC staff and students you guys are Rock Stars! showed up and showed out. In the month of June between our two districts we fed over 20,000 meals. That would have never been possible without all of the hard work you guys put in helping. I would try to name everyone but I don’t want to leave anyone out.


You guys went above and beyond to help make sure pallets, boxes, fruit, vegetables and everything else I threw your way got where it needed to be.
Wendell drove the forklift unloading, loading and unloading again, Jeremy and Trevon unloading semis and box trucks, loading the trailer for delivery and anything I asked for.
Mrs Young and family, Mrs Teresa Staton and family, Mrs Danielle Condray and boys, you guys did an amazing job manning MHS pick up, Alaisha Orthman and Liv, Ms Beverly always on hand to help set up and take down, Mary, Michelle,Toni keeping the kids on campus fed every day, and Coach Buck drove the truck and trailer to WYC and Arkota loading cars at pick up.
I couldn’t have asked for a better group of staff and students who volunteered their time to help make sure the families who showed up left with a box and the kind words these guys shared every pick Monday.

Yes I’m a Rattler, but I also have a little Wolverine in me too (house divided). And when two communities and districts can come together we can make great thing happen for our students and families. That’s what community and team work is all about. All it takes is a little heart and whole lot of GRIT!
