We wrapped up a wonderful year with the 2026 Badger Dairy Club Banquet! It was a great evening celebrating members’ accomplishments and reflecting on the past year within BDC.

Congratulations to all award winners and scholarship recipients, and best of luck to the newly elected Officer Team, World Dairy Expo Chair Team, and 23rd Badger Invitational Sale Team as they prepare for the upcoming year. We’re looking forward to what’s ahead for 2026-2027! 🎉🐄👏🏼

Earlier this month, BDC members represented UW-Madison at the North American Intercollegiate Dairy Challenge National Contest in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The team placed second in their division, which was a great accomplishment in the largest contest to date! Congratulations and On, Wisconsin!

The Spring Show showmanship contest is less than two weeks away! 🐄

Sign-up is now open for the contest hosted by Badger Dairy Club on Saturday, April 25th. Registration closes at 5 pm, and the contest begins at 6 pm.

There are four age divisions: Peewee (8 and under), Junior (9-13), Intermediate (14-17), and Senior (18-21). Two rings will run simultaneously, with Seniors followed by Intermediates in Ring 1, and Peewees followed by Juniors in Ring 2.

Badger Dairy Club Spring Trip 2026! 🐄

Last week, BDC members traveled to Oklahoma for our spring trip. Highlights included a stop at GenoSource in Iowa and a tour of Marak Family Farm in Oklahoma. Members also visited Stockyards City, the Oklahoma Youth Expo, and Oklahoma State University’s Ferguson Family Dairy Visitor Center.

Thank you to all who welcomed our group and shared their knowledge! We returned to campus with new perspectives on the dairy industry after four days of memorable experiences.

We are proud of our BDC members who competed at the 2026 Western Regional Dairy Challenge in Alberta, Canada last weekend! 🐄

Working alongside students from other universities, they evaluated a dairy operation, developed recommendations for the farm, and presented their ideas to industry judges.

Congratulations to the teams that placed and to all of our UW-Madison students who represented our Dairy Science program so well!
