Step 2 of a HACCP plan...

In March I start a new teaching gig. I'll still be at The FEED (Food Enterprise & Economic Development) Kitchens and teaching independently, but I'll also be the food safety instructor for the new Black Business Hub on Madison's South side!

The hope to have 15 or so students for the first class. That'll be fun but challenging - it's been a few years since I've taught for more than four at a time.

I'll have to rework some teaching materials, but the resources I've built in the student section of my website will be helpful. And I'll have a screen instead of a whiteboard!

FEED Kitchens is shut down for plumbing repairs in our dishroom. After 10+ years of heavy use, constant hot water, and vibrations our plumbing lines have failed requiring immediate repair.

No dishroom; no food production so FEED operators are having a mini-vacation in the middle of their busy season. If all goes according to schedule your favorite food cart will back on the street tomorrow.

FEED Kitchens is an important community resource and a cog in our local food system. This becomes especially apparent when we find ourselves in these little emergencies and production is slowed or stopped.
