CHEM 2212 Lab students were excited to extract orange oil compounds from citrus fruits like oranges and lemons as part of the CURE project. They enjoyed doing hands-on science and seeing how chemistry works in real life. The activity helped students learn in a fun and interesting way while building confidence in learning and testing new lab skills. ππ§ͺ

Students in Professor Sydney Edgar's BIOL 1001 & 1002 brought their creativity and skills to a semester's end project. They were asked to either create & label a cell (1001); or an organ or organism (1002) & provide biological info about their choice. The end result was an array of unique and creative projects-from crocheted or clay jellyfish, to a felt heart or a pink cell! Amazing work! #
In honor of the Nerd Wing. May the 4th be with you! π«ππ€£

Weβre proud to celebrate Jesse Clements, a student in the Middle Georgia State University School of Health and Natural Sciences, who will be graduating this May 2026! π Jesse will be continuing his education at the Illinois College of Optometry, where he will pursue his Doctorate in Optometry.
During his time at MGA, Jesse actively engaged in leadership and campus involvement, participating in the 2026 Student Leadership Conference and the 2026 Student Leadership Challenge. He encourages all MGA students to get involved and take advantage of these opportunities!
Jesse shared that during his admissions interview, the committee was especially impressed with his resume, which highlighted his involvement on campus as a dedicated SSC Tutor, a member of the Torch Society, and an active participant in the Pre-Professional Club as the Optometry Cabinet.
βThey liked that my extracurriculars were familiar, and I shared many of the same qualities as them!β β Jesse Clements
β¨ Congratulations, Jesse! We thank you for your participation and wish you good luck!
