MPHS Band not official

Congratulations to the Mary Persons High School Symphonic Band for their outstanding performance and Superior Ratings in every category on a grade VI program. Bravo!!!

Congratulations Mary Persons Concert Band on their overall Superior ratings on their concert literature and Excellent ratings on sight reading!

So proud and amazed, but not surprised at the incredible progress Eric Thompson and his team have made in such a short time. Of course I would expect nothing less of Dawg, Then and Now!

Please join me in congratulating the Mary Persons Band program on their truly inspiring performances yesterday at their 2018 Large Group Performance Evaluation. Both of our bands recieved straight superior ratings in both their performance and sight reading. This concludes a year of adjudication where all Monroe County Bands: Middle School, Bulldog Brigade, Concert Band, and Symphonic Band received superior ratings at all evaluations.

Mary Persons Bulldog Brigade gets ready for showtime August is a time for school supply shopping and looking forward to the beginning of high school football, but is also full of long days in the heat and humidity for those in marching band.

Great experience for the kids.

With our deepest sympathies. This wonderful person worked in the most noblest of professions. She taught our children. She did this with passion,love, humor, talent, patience and a kind heart. She was the perfect compliment to the incredible band director who has become such an integral part of our Bulldog Family. The love that she and Mr. Thompson shared was apparent the first time you saw them together.Their unique and quirky personalities were the secret sauce that it takes to really grab our children's attention in this digital age. I had the honor to spend several years of fall Friday nights on the sidelines with them and it was such a privilege to watch their magic. She touched so many lives in such a short time, it truly saddens me to think about how many students are going to miss that light as her candle went out way to soon. Most importantly, I grieve for Eric, his incredible family and her family. Please keep them in your prayers and rally our Bulldog Nation to be there and support them in any way possible during this terrible tragedy. Sincerely, Wayne Thompson
