It's finally summer, and hopes reading is on your bucket list!

Research consistently shows that students can lose academic ground over the summer months. For children already working hard to strengthen their reading skills, that slide can be especially significant.

But summer also presents a real opportunity: time to reinforce skills in low-stakes, enjoyable ways that feel nothing like schoolwork.

So head to the library and check out something new. Download an audiobook for those summer roadtrips.

Whatever you choose, make reading a priority this summer!

When Anderson arrived at Roberts Academy last August, he was exhausted.

Years in classrooms not built for the way his brain learns had left him discouraged and convinced that reading just wasn't for him.

That's not the Anderson his teacher, Kim Greenlee, knows today.

Through the Orton-Gillingham Approach and Ms. Greenlee's dedication, Anderson built reading skills step by step, in a way that finally made sense.

Then something incredible happened: he started bringing chapter books home from the library and reading them cover to cover.

Today, Anderson walks into school with confidence. He reaches for books and he reads for fun!

Moments like that don't happen by accident. They happen because Roberts Academy exists, and because people like you make it possible.

This weekend is your last chance to give during Mercer University's Week of Giving.

Your gift supports specialized instruction, small class sizes, and a community where students with dyslexia are truly seen and taught in the way they need.

Will you help us transform the lives of more students like Anderson?

It’s Teacher Appreciation Week!

And while we value and appreciate all educators, we are particularly grateful for ours!

Our teachers work hard each day to ensure that our dyslexic students not only learn to read, but also gain the confidence necessary to be successful in *and* outside of the classroom.

Please take a moment to share your appreciation in the comments below!
