➡️Why Are Donations Necessary?
The Passaic River Rowing Association’s scholarship fund keeps our youth program accessible to all. In 2025, we distributed over $21,000 in need-based aid, which supported our athletes to discover their strength, build resilience, and find community on the water. Everyone deserves a seat in the boat! Help us ensure that cost is never the reason a kid has to walk away from the water.

➡️How Are Donations Used?
Rowing has long carried a reputation as an expensive, exclusive sport. PRRA is working to change that. Funds raised support our Youth Scholarship Fund, providing need-based aid covering up to 65% of program dues, opening the sport to young athletes regardless of their family’s financial situation.

Join us for National Learn to Row Day 2026!

This FREE event offers beginners a fun introduction to rowing, with basic instruction on equipment, technique, and safety. Come learn about our facilities and programs at the Bergen County Rowing Center while getting familiar with the fundamentals of rowing.

You will have a chance to learn and practice:
- Moving efficiently on a rowing machine
- Learning the parts of a boat and other important terms
- Picking up and carrying a boat while on land
- Getting into and out of a boat and taking your first strokes on the water

No experience needed! Must be 11 or older to participate.

Join us for Return to Rowing Day on Saturday, May 16th 9am-12pm at the PRRA Boathouse!

This is a chance to have a low-pressure return to boat handling and being on the water. Our session will include a casual row, a chance to scrimmage, plus a potluck.

Do you ever find yourself watching rowers gliding down the river, wanting to join them but not sure where to start?

PRRA offers LEARN TO ROW programs for adult beginners (and former rowers needing a refresher) of all ages and abilities! (For Youth inquiries, email [email protected])

These are 3-day crash courses, offered now through September, hosted by our PRRA coaching staff at our beautiful boathouse on the Passaic River.

The program is meant to prepare you for immediate inclusion in our Club Masters program which offers 3 coached rowing sessions/week.

If you participate in a LTR, you get a heavy discount on your PRRA membership.
