Early signs of dyslexia include difficulty naming things quickly, especially in sequence. Days of the week, colors, etc. can all be difficult for children with dyslexia. Rhyming is also difficult. Parents are often told that it's too early to diagnose dyslexia, but they still have the power to make decisions that will positively affect their children. Finding intervention early and using EBLI or another speech to print methodology when these signs seem obvious will help kids catch up quickly with skills that will help them read for the rest of their life!

One of my favorite memories is being read to by my mom. Read to your children, even when they're older. Not only is it entertaining, but it strengthens their attention span, their listening skills, their vocabulary, and their background knowledge of the world!

The scaffolding that is an inherent facet of EBLI is how kids get the support they need through every step of learning. Lots of support in the beginning, with gradual removal of support, allowing children to learn the skills by doing. Skills that will be used whenever they need them, for life.
