The Kinship Board

Please read 🤍 I’ve decided not to renew my license with the health department when it expires on Aug. 31, so as of Sept. 1, The Kinship Board will officially close. All I can say is that after almost 4 years, all I feel is gratitude toward all of you for helping me take this little business to places I never expected—to weddings and funerals, showers and parties, city-wide events and classrooms, to alumni reunions and family dinners. For mini boxes and grazing tables, markets and workshops, and comments and shares, thank you for all the countless ways you have supported me!

There are times to persevere and there are times to let go. With my full time job and 3 kiddos now in activities, and after a year of weighing this decision, I’ve decided it’s my time to let go, in hopes of gaining more. Letting go of the time commitment in hopes of gaining more time with my family, letting go of the added busyness and stress in hopes of gaining better physical and mental health, and letting go of the financial support in exchange for gaining more real presence in the moment. I will truly miss the creativity and the challenge and the joy that comes from making food look pretty and making your wishes come to life. The Kinship Board has been so much more than I could have ever hoped, and I’m grateful to have to make the difficult decision to now choose less.

I’ll still be taking orders until Aug 31. If you have a gift card, please use it within the next two weeks. If you know someone who has a gift card, please let them know. Once my supplies run out of certain sizes, that size will be sold out. Feel free to message me if you have any questions. Thank you so much for these past four years of kinship.

Dropped off my final board of the busy season over the weekend. There have been quite a few late nights and 4:30am wake up calls over the past month or so, and while I moaned and groaned as the alarms went off, looking back I’m just grateful. Thank you so much for keeping me busy and for trusting me to be part of your special events. From showers and weddings and birthdays and graduations to teacher gifts and business gatherings and simple family dinners, I’m thankful for every single order!

I’m taking a break this week, will be open the majority of June, and will be closed during July.

Under the Sea themed grazing table for a Shellabration! I was both nervous and excited to create this table, but in the end was very happy with how it turned out. And check out to see more details of the entire party. It was incredible!

If you know of an order you’ll need to place for the end of April or month of May, I encourage you to do so ASAP. These months are chocked full of events, and my Kinship calendar is already getting quite full. ❤️ A Valentine-themed first birthday party board ❤️ Bringing a little sunshine to this intensely rainy day.

I had hopes of mocking up my Valentine’s heart plates for you to see before you order, but it’s a very busy season for our family outside of Kinship, and I’m going to go ahead and call it, it’s not going to get done. So, here are the two sizes I’m offering, and if you’d like to see examples you can scroll back in the grid to see the previous years. If you trust me to create you something cute, go ahead and place your order! Sizes, prices and available dates are listed on the request form. I have limited supplies this year (especially with the smaller size), so go ahead and put in your request if you’d like something! And as always, thank you for your business!

A couple boards from my first week back. I closed for the month of January, but I enjoyed getting back into the swing of things this week!
