Another alumni win? We’ll raise a glass to that.

Huge congratulations to Texas Tech Viticulture Certificate alumnus Michael Bilger and the team at Adega Vinho Winery on bringing home a Gold Medal at the 2026 Decanter World Wine Awards for their 2021 Estate Tempranillo!

Seeing our alumni make their mark and showcase the quality of Texas wine on the world stage never gets old. Cheers to this well-deserved recognition!

Sharing a post from Blaine, our Senior Tech at our Lubbock teaching vineyard:

"This project is to burn grapevine cuttings collected from vineyard pruning operations in order to produce bio-char for experimental use in vineyard research applications. The bio-char will be evaluated for potential benefits in vineyard soil management and related research studies."
