The broad vision of the WLI is to enhance the leadership potential and skill sets of undergraduate women leaders on campus, offer a forum for undergraduate women leaders to network, and to increase the visibility of women leaders on campus.

Our is Abenaa M. Brewster, M.D., M.H.S. As a tenured Professor in the Department of Clinical Cancer Prevention at MD Anderson Cancer Center (MDACC), she has made a large impact on the study of breast cancer. She is a medical oncologist in the Nellie B. Connally Breast Center where her clinical interest is the management of breast cancer, including both risk assessment and survival. She is the director of a longitudinal cohort study of women at high risk of developing breast cancer, focusing on how traits such as ethnicity and obesity affect the risk of onset.

While we are still honoring breast cancer awareness month, we want to showcase Bob Noel as our . As a Maine ambassador for the Real Men Wear Pink campaign, Bob and his wife (who is a survivor herself) hosted a comedy show in Portland with a live and silent auction called "Comediennes Against Breast Cancer". All proceeds from the event went to the American Cancer Society to support both men and women who are affected by breast cancer.

In honor of breast cancer awareness month, our is Ellyn Davidson, CEO of Brogan & Partners and 12 year breast cancer survivor. Mrs. Davidson actively raises both funds and awareness for the community of people touched by breast cancer. She has been honored with a Career Mastered leadership in action award and recognized as an Esteemed Woman of Michigan by the Dr. Gary Burnstein Health Clinic in 2015 and as a RARE Everyday Hero by Winning Futures in 2013. She’s also a member of the marketing committee for Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit and the Michigan Women’s Foundation annual event committee. Talk about a lead(h)er!

Tricia Earl is the Program Manager and Academic Advisor (Undergraduate) for the Women's & Gender Studies and responsible for maintaining, organizing and planning departmental projects and programming since 2008.

Prior to joining Texas Tech University she worked as the exhibition coordinator at the Buddy Holly Center with the City of Lubbock. Additionally, she has held academic teaching positions, education and curatorial occupations for the past ten years in Lubbock.

Since 2005, she has been an active community organizer in both the Lubbock and University communities. She has been instrumental in escalating presentations, lectures, conferences, colloquiums, exhibitions, panel discussions and multiple film series. The primary objective to her coordinating, organizing and planning achievements has been to provide an open forum to enhance critical thinking, promoting social justice.

Robin Dru Germany, BA (Philosophy-Tulane), MFA (Fine Art-University of North Texas) is a Professor of Photography in the School of Art. Her research investigates the tenuous border between the land and the water, looking simultaneously at the human controlled world above and the undisclosed darkness of the underwater environment. Through the use of underwater photographic cameras and lighting, her images point to the asynchrony between these two environments. Germany has exhibited her research at the Fort Wayne Art Museum; the Center for Photography at Woodstock, at the New York Hall of Science; in Arezzo Italy at the Fotografia Festival, the Art Museum of South Texas in Corpus Christie Texas and in galleries and museums around the country. Her works are held in public and private collections. In her teaching at Texas Tech, she strives to support all students in making honest artwork that reflects their individual world views. She actively guides students to realize their innate skills and abilities and works to broaden their scope of understanding about photographic seeing. She has served on regional and national boards for the Society for Photographic Education and the Texas Photographic Society and continues to provide support for the student-run Tech Photo Club. Germany has served her school as associate director for the past five years.

Raegan Higgins is an Associate Professor of Mathematics in the Department of Mathematics & Statistics. Her current research is in time scales; her interests focus on oscillation criteria for certain linear and nonlinear second order dynamic equations. While she is also interested in applications of time scales, Raegan has a keen interest in increasing the number women, especially those underrepresented, in STEM and improving the undergraduate preparation of mathematics majors. She is a proud alumnus of Xavier University of Louisiana. In 2008, Dr. Higgins was one of the first two African-American women to earn a doctoral degree in Mathematics from the University of Nebraska- Lincoln.

A native of Baton Rouge, LA, Dr. Higgins was named one of the 2016 Inspiring Women in STEM by INSIGHT into Diversity. This award recognizes women who work to inspire and encourage the next generation to pursue STEM education and careers via teaching, mentoring, research, and groundbreaking discoveries and innovations. In 2014, she was recognized by the West Texas Association for Women in Science as the Outstanding Woman Leader for her commitment to the education, training, and mentoring of women in STEM. She was named co-director of the EDGE (Enhancing Diversity in Graduate Education) Program in 2017. EDGE, which recently received the Presidential Award for STEM Mentoring, aims to strengthen the ability of women students to successfully complete PhD programs in the mathematical sciences and place more women in visible leadership roles in the mathematics community.
