My name is Caitlyn Matejka, and I am a first-year medical student at TTUHSC. I am from Jacksonville, TX, and am pursuing a career in surgery! Outside of school I enjoy hunting, running, and playing intramural softball. The Health Sciences Center is what I often refer to as a hiddden gem- I can’t imagine going elsewhere and receiving the opportunities I have received here and am continously amazed at the doors that are opened to me. I am honored to serve on the OLN committee and decided to join because I believe this is a great way to pour back into the students and school that have poured so much into me. OLN has gifted me the privilege of supporting the mission of Tech, and helping students in need!

My name is Ferris Zeitouni. I am currently a first-year medical student at TTUHSC and an aspiring future surgeon! Outside of school, some of my hobbies include snowboarding, playing intramural sports, and watching college basketball and the NFL! Everyone at the TTUHSC has been so supportive and provided me with opportunities that allowed me to be where I am today. I am thankful for the opportunity to serve on this committee to provide relief for students facing emergency financial hardship. OLN has allowed me the privilege of helping students in need and contributing to the supportive environment of our school.

Hey everyone! My name is Isaiah George and I'm from Mesquite, Texas. I graduated from Texas Tech with a degree in Microbiology, and now I'm a first-year medical student in the TTUHSC School of Medicine. I enjoy playing my bass guitar and playing ping pong in my free time. As a member of OLN, I have recognized the value of support that comes from pure generosity. OLN's vision to help alleviate financial hardship in unexpected or difficult circumstances highlights a unique niche of support for all TTUHSC students. The means and capacity of an organization to serve others well is seen in its widespread impact, and this is evident in OLN. Serving the highest well-being of others, even as a future medical professional, starts with where you are - I am grateful to play a small role in helping provide emergency funding through OLN that will generate a significant impact in the lives of my fellow TTUHSC students!

Hi! My name is Brett Thigpen and I am a first year medical student at TTUHSC School of Medicine. I first came to Lubbock in 2018 to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from Texas Tech University, and I have been here ever since! I decided to join the OLN Committee to support my peers as we work towards graduate/professional degrees while juggling our lives and responsibilities. I would not be where I am today without the support and help of others, and I am glad to now be able to provide that same opportunity to my peers.

Howdy! I’m Bayli and I’m currently a 3rd year medical student at TTUHSC School of Medicine. I grew up in East Texas, studied biology at UT Austin, and then moved out west for medical school. Outside of medicine, my passions include running, dogs, puzzles, and all things fashion! I joined the OLN team because I wanted to help peers across my community in their time of need, and I felt like it would be a great platform in which I could support TTUHSC students like myself.

My name is Amanda Key and I am a current MS3 in the TTUHSC School of Medicine. I am from Albuquerque, NM, and have three older siblings who have played a very significant role in my life. I went to TCU for undergrad where I swam and majored in biology with a double minor in chemistry and economics. I chose Tech for medical school because on my interview day, everyone I interacted with oozed kindness. The culture was unrivaled and offered the environment in which I wanted to train to be a physician. I joined the OLN board to be a part of an organization that demonstrated that kindness and generosity to fellow students. It is a unique privilege to be able to help those in a moment of need. I am honored to get to witness the impact that this organization has on so many students’ lives and careers.

Hi! My name is Asher George and I'm a 4th-year medical student from Mesquite, Texas! I enjoy the opportunity to serve my fellow students, so I joined OLN when I was an MPH student in the GSBS, prior to starting medical school. Financial assistance is a tangible means of serving students in emergency situations. I appreciate the insight I have gleaned from my fellow committee members as we collectively find meaningful ways to impact our students who need help. I am privileged to see how OLN has provided for many students facing emergency financial hardships through the past few years, and I am excited to see how the organization will continue to do so in the future!
