Hey, friends! Did you know I have a weekly newsletter? 😊
Every week, I share things related to leadership, communication, employee engagement, strengths, and the kinds of conversations I’m having with leaders and organizations right now.
Sometimes it’s a free, practical resource. Sometimes it’s a new blog or YouTube video. And sometimes it’s just a thought I can’t stop thinking about that week. 💙

I’m back to work after a much needed week of vacation! I loved spending a week back home in Ruidoso, NM. The mountains were 100% calling me! 😉🏔️❤️
We also snuck in a day trip to Carlsbad Caverns. I’ve been there so many times growing up, and it’s still very awe-inspiring after all these years.
I love living in West Texas, but the mountain air (and rain) get me every time. 🥹❤️

If you’re early in your leadership journey, I want to share a review that might relate to you. 💙
And this is exactly why I wrote The Congruent Leader. 👇
At its core, leadership is about developing the self-awareness and consistency needed to navigate every season, challenge, and role you carry.
If you’re stepping into management or leadership for the first time (or finding your footing in a new season), I hope this book feels like a guide and companion along the way. 🙌

On Wednesday, I hosted my webinar (How to Lead and Work with Challenging People: Using AI to Think Clearly and Respond Wisely). One of the points I made is that your AI agent is probably going to be a big fan of your ideas, perspectives, and assumptions. 😂📣
And honestly? That’s something leaders need to be really aware of.
AI can be an incredible thinking partner when you’re preparing for difficult conversations or working through workplace dynamics, but it shouldn’t replace discernment, emotional intelligence, or critical thinking.
If you only use AI to validate your perspective, you may miss important context, blind spots, or alternative ways of approaching a situation.
The real value comes when you use it to:👉 challenge your assumptions👉 explore different perspectives👉 prepare thoughtfully👉 role play conversations👉 think more clearly before reacting
That’s where things start to get really powerful.
Also… the webinar went SO well! 💚
I’m wondering if we should bring this workshop back later this summer for another round. If that’s something you’d be interested in, let me know below 👀

Yesterday I made a quick day trip to Amarillo to spend the afternoon with the team at Baptist Community Services talking about one of my favorite (and most requested) topics: how to lead and work with challenging people. 💙
I really enjoyed getting to spend time with their team! Thank you again to Baptist Community Services and Jeri Tyler for having me — and for making the Amarillo day trip such a great one. 🙌

I got to spend time on Wednesday with one of my longtime partners, Parkridge Pregnancy Medical Clinic of Lubbock. 💙
I facilitated a CliftonStrengths workshop, and it was such a joy getting to meet some of their newer team members and spending time learning together.
I love helping people better understand how they naturally think, lead, communicate, and contribute — and seeing how much stronger teams become when those strengths are understood and appreciated. Y’all already know how much I geek out over CliftonStrengths. 💪
So grateful for partnerships like this one and for teams who continue to invest in their people year after year.

Tuesday was just the best. 💙
Thank you to Donya Williams Butler and the Association for Women in Communications - Lubbock for the invitation and for such a thoughtful afternoon together.
And congratulations again to Tieler and Yvonne! 😊
