It's my birthday! My goal for 58...to join & on their next roadtrip! Hey...I'm learning to dream big! Right?!!!
They look a little confused (or worried) about me & the kiwi. At least I'm not demanding to drive! However, I am calling "shotgun".

So this is the first roadtrip I've taken since Pete & Glena have been gone. It's a bit ironic that the trip was to Santa Fe.
Pete & Glena were married on Christmas Day of 1953. They spent their honeymoon in Santa Fe and stayed at the El Rey Court. Pete bought Glena a couple of beautiful jewelry sets on that trip, one of which was an Apache Tears necklace, earring, and bracelet set.
I missed them a lot while on this trip. I thought of them each time I drove past the El Rey on Cerrillos. While walking The Plaza, I thought of them several times...how in love they were with each other and how excited they must have been to be in Santa Fe together. They always spoke of their time there with great affection.
Many times, I had an urge to call them...to update them on our trip, tell them what all we have seen and done...and I missed Daddy asking if the El Rey was still there. I miss him watching the clock and calling me while I'm on the road to guess where I am.
But I tell myself, "They know...they know." I'm thankful now for the two guardian angels who remind me of their presence and watch over me.
